RPM Challenge 2010

It's time again for the RPM Challenge. It's an annual call for all musicians to get off the couch and make a CD of 10 songs or 35 minutes of music in one month. I've done it for the past two years, and it really does help focus the mind on getting it down on paper (or computer) and getting it done.

From the web site:
2010 RPM Challenge Sign-ups are NOW OPEN!

New bands: please REGISTER HERE!

Past participants: just log-in, go to your 'Edit' menu, select 'Update your Details' and there you will see the 2010 sign-up checkbox in the 'About' tab! Check that puppy and save your changes! :)

2010 is the 5th anniversary of RPM. Celebrate with us by making music!

Not clear on what this is all about?? This is the challenge: record an album in 28 days, just because you can.

That’s 10 songs or 35 minutes of original material recorded during the month of February. Go ahead… put it to tape.

Don't wait for inspiration - taking action puts you in a position to get inspired. You'll stumble across ideas you would have never come up with otherwise, and maybe only because you were trying to meet a day’s quota of (song)writing. Show up and get something done, and invest in yourself and each other.

Anyone can come up with an excuse to say “no,” so don’t. You have your orders - now let's get this party started!!

Want to get involed?? We are always looking for help! Promotion (online and print), web design/development (PHP, Joomla, MySQL, CSS, etc) and grass-roots regional organizers!! Email Mosfet -

Music of the Hoh River Valley

I've completed the CD for the Music of the Hoh River Valley. I'm working to put it up on iTunes via CD Baby. Today I've posted some liner notes. All the pieces are available on my web site, but I'm not sure where at this point. I really do need to organize them better.

Lo, How a Rose E'er Blooming

This is a work in progress. Finger Piano plays the 15th century German carol. One of my favorite hymns. In very simple just intonation approximated by 72 EDO.

Play it:
